To date, WPHG has established a twelve stage Heritage Trail that follows the borders of the valley and tells the history of the park. Within the public area of the park, WPHG continues to work with the London Borough of Merton in an effort to improve facilities and to retain the high standard of care and maintenance that the park deserves. The total amount that the Heritage Group has raised for projects now exceeds £300,000 and has included the creation of the Elisabeth Pool, the replacement of the gates and the creation of the Waterfall Garden. So, do come to Wimbledon Park and enjoy what’s on offer. Twenty first class tennis courts, first class boating and sail training centre, first class athletics, first class bowling green, first class football pitches and a kid’s play area that is second to none in South London. Plus some of the nicest spots to just relax and leave you to wonder how all of this green and pleasant space can be found so close to a world city centre. All we ask of you is to please help keep Wimbledon Park tidy by looking after your own litter and hopefully picking up some litter that didn’t quite make it to the bins.
